Launch Alaska is Looking for Additional Energy and Transportation Companies for Their Spring Cohort

Launch Alaska is a business accelerator that invests in startups tackling a wide range of Alaskan issues ranging from food, water, and transportation to energy. They are looking to mentor and invest in an additional 4-6 energy and transportation companies in the Spring of 2019.

Launch Alaska is looking for energy companies with a focus on grid management and resiliency, low cost energy solutions, microgrid technologies, energy storage, and capacity building. For transportation startups, the focus is on companies with an emphasis on drones, autonomous vehicles, last mile transport, shipping logistics, road maintenance and materials, and electric vehicles. The deadline for applicants for the spring of 2019 is October 5th.

Applicants choose between applying for two different tracks: either the Customer Development Track, which seeks to push startups to revenue and validate the next stage of their business model, or the Demonstration Track, which is for those companies that already have identified a demonstration partner in Alaska.

If chosen, Launch Alaska provides applicants with funding, mentorship, technical assistance, co-working space, and crucial introductions to customers, investors, and other strategic partners. According to their website, about 30% of firms graduating from a GAN-member accelerator receive second round investment, at an average of $1.9m.
