Energy Audits for Public, Non-Profit, and Other Buildings

This is a program offered by SWAMC with support from the US Department of Energy. This is open to any non-residential building in a community where an energy auditor is conducting audits through the USDA Commercial Building Energy Audit program.

Eligibility: Eligible buildings include city, tribe, borough, or non-profit-owned buildings that are not eligible for audits under SWAMC’s USDA Commercial Building Energy Audit program. These may include educational organizations or schools, community halls, tribal buildings, senior housing, etc. Email to ask about a building in your community.

Description: Level 1, Level 2, and custom (equipment- or system-specific such as a refrigeration system)

Cost: Though not as deeply discounted as the USDA CBEA program for businesses, this is an opportunity to set-up an energy audit without paying for the auditor’s travel costs. The building owner will negotiate a cost with the auditor.

Register: Please email to check when or if an auditor will be in your community.

Dates: The USDA program is scheduled through October of 2018, with the possibility of extension. Building owners are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. There is no registration deadline. Instead, an audit trip is scheduled to a community once 2 or more businesses have signed up.

Estimated Building Energy Audit Schedule

Unalaska – Week of October 22
Dillingham – TBD
Kodiak – TBD

If you have a building you want audited in one of these communities or elsewhere in the Aleutians, Bristol Bay, and Kodiak region, email to get your community on the list!
